Sister Cities of Durham Youth Program in collaboration with Jane Goodall's Roots & Shoots program Jane Goodall's Roots & Shoots, www.rootsandshoots.org, the Jane Goodall Institute's global environmental and humanitarian youth program, is a powerful, youth-driven, global network of tens of thousands of members in more than 120 countries. Together, youth from pre-K through college are taking action to make the world a better place for people, animals and the environment. Sister Cities of Durham is participating! Our participating schools: Arusha Committee: Riverside High School in Durham NC Il Toro, a private boys' school in Arusha, Tanzania Kostroma Committee: Kestrel Heights charter high school in Durham Gymnasium #1 in Kostroma Durham UK Committee: Central Park charter elementary school in Durham NC, Gilesgate primary school in Durham, UK Toyama Committee: To be determined --------- Additionally Sister Communities of San Ramon (Nicaragua): http://san-ramon.org/ shares affiliation with Sister Cities of Durham youth program, and Jane Goodall's Roots & Shoots program.
Jane Goodall met with Riverside teachers and students in March 2011 when she visited Duke University to archive her papers.
